Entrecard Users blogging mistake

While on Entrecard today I noticed a number of users making the same with there blogs. Now this mistake is not massive its not going to destroy your blog, though it does give your blog a very amateure feel to it.

What am I talking about?

RSS feed subscription numbers. Why would any blogger want to promote to other users that they have 5, 10, or 30 readers? To users coming to a website and seeing 5, 10 users is a real turn off. It shows that either:

1. Tthe blog is fairly new and not mature,
2. The blog has been going on for some time and the publisher cannot capture his readers.

This second point could also say to a reader that the articles may be badly written and that no one wants to read them. So my advice is do not display to your readers your RSS subscription numbers until you have successfully gained over 80 readers. This will then show the readers your blog has something to offer and that there are lots of other readers out there using your blog.
